Supreme Court Advocate Dr. Kislay Panday Talks About His Bestselling Book “The Sovereign”

Dr. Kislay Panday works as an advocate at the Supreme Court of India. At a very young age, he has managed to make a name for himself as one of the top lawyers in the country. Dr. Panday is known to be somebody for whom his profession is a means to ensure justice for the sufferer and make society a fairer place for everyone to live in.
Now, the young lawyer has come up with a book titled ‘The Sovereign’ which traces the history of Indian politics.When asked what inspired him to write a book on this subject, he says, “I wanted the people of India to know about its political history.
I often come across individuals, especially those who belong to a younger age group, telling me how they find politics boring. Whether you wish to become a part of politics or not, you must study it.
It is imperative for every citizen to be aware of the political history of their nation. When you know what has shaped your country, you start having an understanding of how things can get better.”
The Sovereign is a well-researched book covering several important events pertaining to the political history of India. While the reviews have been very positive, the book has also got a very encouraging response from those who have picked it up from the stores and read it.

“It is often said these days that people don’t read but that’s far from being the truth. If you go through the reports put together by different publishing houses, you will realize the number of people reading has gone up significantly.
Even in smaller towns where there are no bookstores, people are ordering books online. I wanted to document India’s political history and also wanted people to know about it. By writing a book, I could do both. I feel humbled to see the kind of appreciation my book has received in such a short span of time.”
Dr. Kislay Panday, apart from being a highly successful lawyer, is known for his work as a social activist and theologist. ‘The Sovereign’ has proved to be an important milestone in his journey as an author. In the near future, he plans to write and publish several more books on a variety of diverse topics concerning the society.
