DC holds interactive meeting with Students of GDC Kishtwar

Receives feedback on Back to Village Phase-4 Programme from Visiting College Teams

Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr Devansh Yadav today chaired an interactive meeting with a group of Students of Government Degree College  and listened to their  experiences and feedback on Back to Village Phase 4th Programme here at his Office chamber.

ADDC Sham Lal; ACD Atul Dutt Sharma; DPO,   Sunil Bhutyal; ALC, Amit Kumar, besides Coordinator Prof Faisal Mushtaq were also present in the meeting.Around 20  teams of students of different semesters Coordinated by Prof Faisal Mushtaq gave detailed feedback in the meeting which was  documented by the concerned officers in presence of the DC.

It is pertinent to mention here that a novel and innovative initiative was taken by Deputy Commissioner in the district wherein around 20 teams from GDC Kishtwar were constituted by District Administration on ending October to undergo internship in  Back to village phase fourth programme to get firsthand experience and assess the overall situation of Panchayats and their functioning.

Each team was allotted one panchayat to work upon and submit the detailed report and observations regarding the implementation of various welfare schemes besides finding out infrastructure and developmental gaps on ground level.

Besides, the teams were mandated to disseminate the awareness about the self-employment schemes under Mission Youth, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan, besides conducting plantation and cleanliness drives at different schools and Anganwadi Centres.

All these teams worked tirelessly and today shared their detailed feedback including various suggestions, most of which were related to up-gradation of infrastructure in some government schools that were taken by administration on priority.

During the feedback, the students noted that there were still some schools having scanty buildings, classrooms and infrastructure, while some health sub centres lack basic facilities.All the teams of  students were asked to submit the detailed report about the 20 Panchayats in the prescribed format for further consideration and action.

Government Degree College has got the distinction in the entire UT of J&K  by involving the students  extensively for this year’s Back to Village phase fourth Programme,2022.
