Block Diwas : DC Kathua Rahul Pandey presides over Public Outreach Programme at Mandli

The District Administration Kathua today hosted Block Diwas proceedings here at Block Headquarters, Mandli, where Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Pandey along with a team of officers listened and resolved issues of the people. 

DDC Member Block Mandli, Neeru Bala; DDC Member Block Nagrota-Gujjroo, Narayan Dutt Tripathi; CPO Kathua, Uttam Singh, PRIs, District and Sectoral officers were also present.The programme witnessed overwhelming response of the public from all walks of life. 

They highlighted their issues ranging from provisions of Basic Amenities like Drinking Water, Health, Education, road connectivity, besides issues of shortage of staff in Schools and Health Units.They demanded early start of work on Government Dispensary at Pallan, renovation of Mandli-Koug-Kudetar road link, early completion of Gudu Falial road, meeting shortage of drinking water  in Gudu Flail panchayat, provision of electricity poles for left out areas of Rampur panchayat.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that Block Diwas initiative was aimed at reaching out to the people and listening to their grievances and redressing them in an efficient and coordinated manner. He stressed upon the officers to prioritise the grievances and redress them in a time bound manner.

The DC Kathua called upon the PRIs to take on board all stakeholders while formulating Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) for which district administration has issued a calendar. He said the Departmental Frontline Functionaries will remain present at the Gram Sabha meetings. 

He called for coordination and collaboration among the departments and PRIs to achieve desired development objectives besides timely intervention and action to mitigate the sufferings of the people.The DC also directed concerned BDOs to ensure that all PRI members were informed about monthly scheduled Gram Sabhas so that no one was left out in the planning process of GPDP.

Earlier, Deputy Commissioner convened a meeting of Revenue Officers to review the functioning of Revenue Department and the delivery of different public services, besides the status and progress of the development projects and schemes being implemented in Billawar sub-division.

Later, the DC also chaired a meeting of concerned officers of the Rural development Department to review the progress achieved under CAPEX, PRI grants etc. besides reviewing ongoing works taken up in Aspirational blocks of Duggan and Duggain.

The DC impressed upon the officers to complete all the projects within given timelines so as to provide relief to the inhabitants of far off areas of Billawar sub division.
