Maiden Social science Exhibition of Teachers organised by DIET Poonch

The first ever Social Sciences exhibition for teachers on the theme “Integration of Art and Craft in Teaching” was organized by the District Institute of Education and Training Poonch here at DIET Complex today.

Dr. Madan Lal Sharma, Principal DIET Poonch inaugurated the Exhibition.The exhibition was a part of five Days Content Enrichment Training in Social Studies for the Teachers of all the eleven Zones of Poonch district. 

The Social Science exhibition showcased various models and charts as a part of their project-based learning methodology. Teachers displayed an array of models based on the topics- Indian mountains, Generation of hydroelectricity, A volcano, Water cycle, Layers of earth, the River system, working of a seismograph, Drainage pattern and posters on Gender equality, Pollution and consumer rights, etc.

Teachers from all the eleven Zones used various used items and common things easily available in the homes and made beautiful models and charts to integrate art and craft in the Teaching and Learning process and to encourage the students in Art and Craft.

The Competitions were organized in two categories 1st at Inter Zonal and 2nd at individual level competition. Around 75 models were presented in the exhibition.Dr. Madan Lal Sharma, Principal DIET Poonch, in his address, said that this was an initiative to involve teachers in the implementation of art and Craft in Teaching learning in the Content Enrichment Training. 

He appreciated the Teachers for presenting beautiful models in the exhibition. He asked the teachers to make a habit to use TLM in the classes for making Teaching better and result oriented.Badar Manhas, Sr Lecturer (Course Coordinator) in his address, appreciated the role of Resource Persons and organizers for hosting  a beautiful Exhibition.

Dr. Ritu Dabur, Darshan Bharti (DRG), Tariq Mehmood (DRG), DR. Tanveer, Manpreet Kour, Andleeb Kousar, Nasreen Kousar were the RPs who conducted the Training.
