Kaza to have 50 bedded hospital : Virbhadra Singh

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh announced up-gradation of Community Health Centre (CHC) Kaza, to 50 bedded hospital and said that it would be equipped with latest equipments and machinery. He said that the hospital would be provided with adequate staff and specialist doctors. Apart from this, the residential accommodation for the doctors will also be ensured within the vicinity of the hospital campus so that they may be available round the clock for the people and willingly opt for serving the tribal and far-flung areas of the State, said Chief Minister. Virbhadra Singh was addressing a public meeting at Kaza in tribal Lahaul & Spiti district today. He said that the Government was committed for strengthening the health infrastructure and providing quality health care to the people, especially in tribal areas so as to cater better health services to the people. Besides, the Government was committed to provide cheaper generic drugs in all public health institution of the State and will make assure that the doctors prescribe only generic medicines to the people.

“I am well aware of every nook and corner of the tribal areas of the State and also of the customs, culture and traditions of the tribal people besides their problems and hardships” said Shri Virbhadra, adding that overall development of the tribal areas and welfare of its welfare had always been his priority.He said that it was the Congress Government that had time and again taken up the issue for construction of airport for Kaza at Rangreek and also for expansion of other airstrips in the State. 

I am personally going to pursue the matter pertaining to construction of Rangreek Airstrip with Government of India so that Kaza airport could be made more viable both economically and technically so as to  boost tourism in entire tribal and snow bound areas of the State besides facilitating the people” remarked the Chief Minister.The Chief Minister also stressed upon exploring avenues for employment and self-employment for the youth of tribal areas. He said that the Government would provide uninterrupted 180 days employment to the labourers working for PWD and IPH without break, which was 100 days earlier. He also announced up-gradation of High School Guling to Senior Secondary School.The Chief Minister announced to provide ‘Nautour’ land to the landless for construction of houses for themselves in the valley.Earlier, while addressing a public meeting at Kungri Monastery in Pin Valley, the Chief Minister stressed for conservation of ancient monasteries and seats of religious importance. 

He said that our religion focus on personal spiritual development and deep insight into true nature of life which has to be preserved. He said that true wisdom was not in believing what we are told but instead experiencing and understanding truth and reality.The Chief Minister said that Mudh-Bhawa road would soon be constructed which would be shorter route for Shimla for the people of Pin Valley. He also announced construction of Tangti and Kitnala bridges in the valley. The Chief Minister was accorded warm traditional welcome by the people of the area who had amassed in numbers in their traditional colourful attire. He thanked them for their generosity and also expressed his gratitude towards them for extending support to the Congress during recently held Lok Sabha election.Shri Ravi Thakur MLA Lahaul and Spiti, Smt Pratibha Singh former Member of Parliament, Shri Raghuvir Singh Thakur Ex-MLA and Chairman State Wool Federation, Shri Fungchuk Rai, Ex-Minister, Shri V.C Pharka Additional Chief Secretary, Shri Narender Chauhan, Principal Secretary, PWD and other senior officers were present on the occasion amongst others.
