DC Krittika Jyotsna reviews implementation of SC, ST Prevention of atrocities Act 1989 in Udhampur

To reviewed the effective implementation of Schedule Castes and Scheduled Tribes prevention of atrocities Act 1989 in the District, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Krittika Jyotsna chaired a meeting of officers of different departments in the Conference Hall DC Office Complex Udhampur.

Assistant Commissioner Revenue,  Rafiq Ahmed Jaral and District Social Welfare Officer, Kanika Gupta and other stakeholders attended the meeting.Threadbare discussion was held on the issues related to Socio-Economic development of people belonging to SC/ST, Assistance/ Maintenance expenses provided to victim of atrocities and Constitution of "District level vigilance and monitoring Committee" for reviewing implementation of SC/ST Prevention of atrocities Act 1989 discussed in detail.

Earlier, the ACR, who is also the nodal officer of the Act, apprised the Deputy Commissioner regarding subdivision level Committees, which are working in place. He also put forth FIR cases registered in district Udhampur in this regard.

Necessary directions were issued to the concerned  to conduct regular meetings of sub-divisional level Committees to implement the Act in letter and spirit.
