Jan Abhiyan : DHEW, Shopian organises Awareness programme at Chowgam

As part of Jan Abhiyan programme, the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Mission Shakti Shopian today organized a one day awareness program regarding Beti Bachao Beti Padao (BBBP), at Chowgam Shopian.

DHEW team on the occasion laid emphasis on the importance of education among girl students.Officials stressed upon the need for Girl  education for the purpose of social and economic empowerment. Education plays an important role in protecting women's rights. 

It also helps to prevent discrimination on the basis of gender, the speakers said on the occasion.The team also urged women and girls to avail the benefits of various schemes of women empowerment.The official said that women empowerment is the ultimate goal of DHEW and the team shall put their best efforts in empowering  and supporting Girls at all levels.
