Ghulam Ahmad Mir exhorts youths to bring in change in J&K

‘Govt. committed to youth empowerment, solving their problems’

Minister for Tourism, . Ghulam Ahmad Mir has called upon the youth to join the gigantic effort of steering Jammu and Kashmir to lasting peace and massive development, saying Coalition Government is determined to achieve this objective with a sense of commitment. According to the statement issued, addressing a day long youth convention today at Doodwagan in remote area of Kapran, Mir said youth have to play a larger role and extend cooperation in implementing various welfare schemes aimed at public good.He urged the students to take part in the democratic and all round developmental process initiated by the government across the State. “Time has come when they have to express their choice about the representatives they want to serve them in a better way”, he added.

Tourism Minister enumerated various employment generating schemes launched by the government and exhorted them to benefit from these. He reiterated the commitment of the government towards youth welfare and said several programmes are currently underway in this regard.The Minister also listened to the problems faced by the youngsters and assured that their genuine demands would be resolved through proper forums on priority. He hoped they will play useful role in strengthening the developmental motives of the government.Terming the youth as the "vehicle of change", the Minister urged them to use their energies and potential in shaping a new political order in the state.

"Youth are the main source of success. The young population should use their energies and potential in shaping a new political and developmental order in the State which shall be based on truth and honesty," Mir asserted.Mir said historically youths have been responsible for bringing social and political revolutions in different societies across the world. "Our youths have all the talent, potential to change the entire outlook of the state which shall guarantee a system where every section of the society will feel empowered enough, but they need to be given chance in the system to find their worth," he said.

The Minister said youth need meaningful and respectable job avenues and the government "has formulated a comprehensive youth empowerment plan which shall take care of the need".Youth Congress president, South Kashmir, . Niseer Ahmad Mir, Senior Congress leaders . Abdul Aziz Mantoo and Mohd Iqbal Ahanger also addressed the convention and highlighted the tangible achievements of the government registered over 5 years across the State.
