GDC Neeli Nallah hosts one day seminar on Cyber Crime and Cyber Security

Cyber Security Cell, Government Degree College Neeli Nallah Udhampur, today organised one day seminar in collaboration with District Police, Udhampur under the aegis of “Shikshit Bharat Abhiyaan” on the theme “Cyber Crime and Cyber Security”.

The programme was organised under the guidance of Prof. Hans Raj, Principal of the College, Anwar Ul Haq, Addl. SP, Udhampur and Kashish Sharma, Cyber Expert, Cyber Cell Udhampur were the speakers of the event.

The event started with a welcome note by the Principal, Prof. Hans Raj. He apprised the students that cyber security, now-a-days, is a serious issue. He stressed that the motive of such programmes was to make students and the general masses aware about the recent cyber crimes, frauds and how to adopt safety measures. 

Kashish Sharma, speaker of the event, initiated his lecture with a power-point presentation and gave a detailed introduction of the theme Cyber Crime and its different types like financial fraud and social media platforms. 

He stressed on the various steps that one should take to secure personal information. He also explained case histories and examples in his talk.Anwar Ul Haq, Addl. SP, Udhampur, in his interactive session stressed that cyber crime now-a-days is a serious problem faced not only by youngsters but also by the children and senior citizens of the society. 

He briefed that in order to deal with such frauds, everyone should be aware of cyber crime frauds and its security measures.The students participated with enthusiasm and got awareness about how to secure themselves from Cyber Crime. The formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Shaista Yasmeen, convener of the event. 

Prof. Swati Dutt, Dr. Radha Rani and  Manisha Kanchru were the members of the organising committee. Dr. Renu Gupta,  Manisha Kanchru,  Parul Chibber, Shallu Jamoria, Dr. Ranjeeta Langey and Imtiyaz Ahmed Bhatti were also present.The whole event was anchored by  Ramneek Sharma and  Rabia Shehreen, students of Semester I.
