DC Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav finalises arrangements for celebration of Dussehra festival

Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr Devansh Yadav, today convened a meeting of the officers of the line departments and representatives of religious organisations to finalise the arrangements for the celebration of Dussehra festival.
The meeting was attended by SSP, Shafqat Hussain Butt; ADC, Kishori Lal Sharma; ACR, Varunjeet Singh Charak; ACD, Atul Dutt Sharma; Tehsildar Headquarter, Chander Shekhar Sharma; Tehsildar Kishtwar, Pramood Kumar; EXEn PHE, Ajay Talwar, besides representatives of JPDCL, health and religious organization.
In the meeting, the representative of religious organisations apprised DC Kishtwar that the venue for lighting the effigies shall be Chowgan Ground besides the Jhanki shall be taken out from Adarsh Dramatic Club, Dharmshalla to Chowgan Ground on traditional route from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM on the Day of Festival.
They requested the DC and SSP to ensure that all the arrangements like uninterrupted drinking water and power supply in the town and adjoining areas, water tanker facility in Chowgan Ground, foolproof traffic management system and adequate parking facility in the town, installation of stage and proper barricading at the venue, elaborate security arrangements, lime-lining of traditional route for Jhanki besides cleanliness and hygiene at all temples in the town shall be put in place well in advance.
The Deputy Commissioner assured them that all the arrangements will be put in place well in time on the day of celebration.The SSP also assured them that sufficient deployment of security Personnel en-route and at the venue shall be ensured on the day.
Meanwhile, DC Kishtwar directed the district heads of concerned departments to work in coordination to ensure timely and adequate arrangements during the festival.ExEn PHE was directed to coordinate with the police department for arranging pipes and barricading at the venue.
CMO Kishtwar was directed to deploy Ambulance and emergency Medicare facilities along the Jhanki and at the venue.SSP Kishtwar informed that alternative routes shall be activated on the occasion so that normal traffic is not hampered and Jhanki is taken out in hassle free manner.
Besides, DIPR and the Police department were directed to ensure proper videography during celebration for the safety and Security of people.Deputy Commissioner and SSP further appealed to the representatives of religious organisations to adhere to the SOPs and guidelines during the Jhanki and festival.
