River Island Review: Jagjeet Sandhu’s Short Film Provides Insight Into The Future Water Crisis

Water water everywhere, but not a drop to drink. This quote has been hard a lot of times. The situation has been made when people waste drinking water by throwing garbage, waste, and factory waste. They say that in the future, there will be water around us, but it is often not clean or safe enough to drink. And no, it seems like we will not have a drop of water for anything.

And to highlight the same topic, a Punjabi actor who has now carved a niche in Bollywood, Jagjeet Sandhu, made a short film on the water crisis. Yes, a meaningful yet beautiful short film titled ‘River Island’ has been written, and directed by Jagjeet Sandhu. The actor also has essayed the lead role in the same. Speaking of the short film, River Island depicts the situation in Punjab in 2060. The film provides an insight into the water crisis that will be faced by our future generation.

It also stars Pardeep Cheema and Pooja Brrambat. It shows Jagjeet with a rough and thirsty look, as if he hasn't taken a bath for months. And he kidnapped a girl and asked her father to provide two cartons of water irrespective of money. But the girl’s father refused to provide that and asked him to take his daughter and do whatever they wished. The short film gives a message that 

Meanwhile, firmly establishing the global water crisis as the central issue facing our world this century, the film posits that we can manage this problem if we act now. The story has a very impactful message.
