World Animal Welfare Day is celebrated on October 4 every year. No doubt, animals are beloved by everyone. Their cute nature and their friendly behaviour have grabbed the attention of people. Every person is different. On World Animal Welfare Day, which is celebrated so that at least one day in the year we should give attention to the welfare of animals because on the planet they are as important as human beings.
Origin Of The World Animal Day:
The proposal of this day was derived by Heinrich Zimmermann, who was a German writer and publisher of the magazine Mensch und Hund/Man and Dog. He began the first World Animal Day on March 24th, 1925 in Berlin, and moved it to October 4th for the first time in 1929. In the beginning, he found a following only in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Czechoslovakia. Every year, Zimmermann worked hard and tirelessly on the promotion of World Animal Day. Finally, in May 1931, at a congress of the world’s animal protection organisations in Florence, Italy, his proposal to make 4 October World Animal Day universal,was unanimously accepted.
The originator of this day has done great work. Because of him, today we can pay attention to the animals. Also, many people have run the pet house so that no animal roams the streets homelessly.

The celebration's reason is to provide a good life for the animals and raise awareness towards the animals for their welfare standards of living. This earth is only for humans. This is the earth where life and non- living are alive. But still we gather the non- living things for our means, but the animals who are living do not behave with them well.It is the duty not only of one but for everyone that we should make the earth a better place for the animals to survive.
How to celebrate this day:
- Donation (anything that you can afford) to some of the nonprofit organisations for animals – E.g World Wildlife Fund.
- Volunteer your time at a local shelter or animal sanctuary.
- Educate yourself.
- Show your own animal a little extra love.
- Avoid products that hurt animals.
Many people have pets, and now it has become fashionable to keep them. Dogs are the most popular pet which almost every second family has. Animals have very innocent and sweet hearts, so always be kind and loving with them.
