Udhampur admin starts formulation of Gram Panchayat Development plan

ADDC discusses contours with Line departments

Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Anu Behl today chaired a meeting of officers regarding formulation of Gram Panchayat Development plan(GPDP) for economic development and social justice by utilising the resources available with the Panchayats/ line departments.

Detailed deliberations were held on different aspects related to the execution of Gram Panchayat Development Plan to achieve the development on ground level in rural areas of the district.The ADDC informed that the Gram Panchayat level planning process has to be comprehensive and based on participatory process which involves the full convergence with centrally sponsored schemes of all the line departments related to 29 subjects assigned to the PRIs.    

The ADDC added that Panchayats have a significant role to play in the effective and efficient implementation of flagship schemes. The ADDC  stressed for ensuring public participation while formulating development plans at grass root levels.
