Block Diwas: DDC Rajouri presides over public grievances redressal camp at Dhangri

Issues on spot directions for disposal of genuine public concerns

To listen and redress people's grievances at their doorsteps, District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today chaired a public grievances redressal camp, organised as a part of weekly Block Diwas, here at Dhangri.

During the event, the public and their representatives raised a number of issues and demands of their areas seeking macadamization of roads, upgradation of Govt institutions, paucity of staff, better health care facilities etc.

Specific issues which were highlighted during the event were sanctioning of additional transformers, repair and renovation of dilapidated roads, construction of bridge at Androlla, repair and renovation of HS Androlla, blacktopping of road from Chakli to Androlla etc.

Other issues were scarcity of water, construction of road from Gai to Khadarian, sanctioning of a Gujjar hostel and Pahari hostel, setting up a Gobar gass plant, repair of old defunct hand pumps etc.Officers of different departments also briefed the public about the schemes being implemented in the district and motivated them to avail the benefits of the same. They also responded to the public queries pertaining to their departments.

The DDC gave a patient hearing to all the issues projected by the public during the event and assured them that all their genuine concerns would be redressed in a phased manner.He also highlighted a number of livelihood generation schemes of the government and urged the youth to avail the benefits of the same.

DDC also urged the PRIs to play a crucial role in the development process and ensure that all the developmental works being executed in their respective areas were completed within the set times while adhering to quality parameters.

Stressing on close coordination between the frontline workers and public representatives, he asked them to work in tandem for the prompt delivery of essential services and holistic and sustainable development of the region.

Regarding enrollment of all eligible persons as voters, he said that for strengthening democracy, it is necessary that every person above the age of 18 years or going should exercise his/her right to vote and this is possible only if every eligible person is registered as a voter.

While highlighting the benefits of the amnesty scheme, the DDC said that the scheme has provided this last opportunity to the consumers in view of not being able to avail the benefits of last scheme due to spread of Covid-19 pandemic during the scheme period. The scheme also envisages that the outstanding principal amount arrears accumulated upto 31.03.2022 after waving off 100% interest/surcharge shall be paid in a maximum of twelve monthly (12) installments.

Replying to the issue of scarcity of water, the DDC assured that all the households of the block shall be provided functional tapped water connections with the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission on ground.Responding to the issue of repair of Androlla bridge and repair and renovation of HS Androlla, the DDC assured that appropriate steps shall be taken in this regard.

He also asked the concerned officers to gear up their field machinery and ensure that the difficulties of the people are addressed and resolved at the earliest.While responding to the public issues and demands, he exhorted the officers to take immediate measures to mitigate the problems of the people highlighted during the public outreach programme.
