Nasha Mukht JK Abhiyan: Inspection of medical stores conducted in Kishtwar

As a part of Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan and on the instruction of Deputy Commissioner, Dr Devansh Yadav, a multi departmental team today conducted inspection of medical stores to check the sale and maintenance of records of sale of psychotropic drugs.

The team consisting of Chief Medical Officer, Dr Chander Prakash, District Social Welfare Officer, Zubair Ahmed; EO Municipality Tariq Balwan; Naib Tehsildar besides Drug  Inspector, asked the Chemists to spread awareness among the common public regarding ill effects of drug addiction. The instructions were also given not to sell narcotic and psychotropic drugs without a valid prescription.

The Chemists were asked to record phone numbers of patients purchasing Narcotic/Psychotropic drugs and maintain a separate register for this purpose.Further, directions were also issued to put the stamp of Chemists on the original prescription and keep photocopies for records.

The team also directed the chemists to install CCTV cameras in their shops for effective surveillance of the Drug Abusers/consumers, failing which strict action shall be taken.Besides, the chemists were also instructed to display posters outside their shop with the information about the hazards of drug abuse to spread awareness about this menace among common masses.
