Bamboo trees, everyone sees bamboo trees in their surroundings. They are easily found in every possible place. But most of the species are found in eastern India.

They are found in areas like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, and West Bengal.

So basically, World Bamboo Day is celebrated to make people aware of bamboo's growth all over the world on a large scale. This day also recognizes its significance across the world. Bamboo also has huge importance for the wild animal panda and human beings' lives.

History:

The originator of World Bamboo Day is Kamesh Salam, who found this day as World Bamboo Day. From 2007 to 2010, Mr. Kamesh Salam served as the President of the World Bamboo Organisation. He organised the 8th World Bamboo Congress in Bangkok in 2009.

During this meeting, he and other members had made the decision that 18 September will be celebrated as World Bamboo Day. 

What do people do on this day?

On this day, people around the world came together to celebrate this day and share their passion for bamboo. They organise events like webinars, festivals, and workshops. People with a deep passion for bamboo plants hold concerts with those instruments that are made from bamboo. It really seems very great that other people in the world are cutting trees, and on the other hand, some people are celebrating at least one day as World Bamboo Day.
