Swachhata Pakhwada: Series of activities organised in Schools across Shopian

As part of Swachhta Pakhwada campaign, schools across Shopian today carried out cleanliness drives in and outside school campuses in addition to the number of activities being held.Swachhta Pakhwada celebrations are being conducted across all educational institutions of the district phase wise. These activities are part of Nationwide activities on the eve of the 153rd  Mahatma Jayanti  Celebrations.

Teachers and students of various educational institutions of various tehsils of the district also took a pledge to reiterate their commitment to keep their respective areas neat and clean, besides improving the green cover on the earth.On the occasion, they also participated in mega cleanliness drives with full enthusiasm and endorsed the Swachhta Mission under Swachh Abhiyan . 

As part of celebrations, many activities including formation of Gandhi Clubs in schools, cleaning of 5 hotspots around the school,  singing of songs on Gandhian Ideology, Cleanliness Drives  have been conducted as per the schedule of activities to be done, till its culmination on Gandhi Jayanti, on 2nd of October.
