Land Passbook distribution functions held across Jammu division districts

Consequent upon comprehensive digitization and streamlining of land records, Land Passbooks were distributed among farmers at special functions organised by district administrations across Jammu Division, on Friday.The main function was held at Convention centre, Jammu which was presided over by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. Besides, the land passbooks distribution functions were organized in each district headquarters.The Land Pass Book entries carry the evidentiary value of the record-of-rights and other public record for all intents and purposes before the courts and the financial institutions including Banks.

AT KATHUA: The revenue record distribution ceremony was   held in Kathua at the VC room of DC Office Complex wherein Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Pandey gave away land passbooks to 100 beneficiaries. 

During the event, 50 beneficiaries from Tehsil Kathua, 20 from Tehsil Marheen, 15 from Tehsil Hiranagar and 15 from Tehsil Nagri were handed over land passbooks.The DC termed the initiative as a remarkable step towards ensuring transparency and Good Governance. He described the initiative as a milestone to improve Public Services delivery and to make the system easily accessible and accountable.

The Deputy Commissioner said that Land Passbooks issued to the landholder contains entries which will enable the landholder to make its use for Credit facilities and for other matters connected therewith.

AT UDHAMPUR: Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Krittika Jyotsna handed over land passbooks to land owners at a function held at Mini Conference Hall DC Office Complex.The DC also interacted with the landowners and handed and highlighted the benefits of land passbooks. She said that the passbook is true to the land records and can be generated online. 

The DC complimented the officers and staff of Revenue Department and concerned for making this facility a possibility in a very short time. The DC stressed them to extend the facility to all the landowners of Udhampur District.

Similar, function was also held in the ACR office wherein Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Syed Khan, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Rafiq Ahmed Jaral and other officers interacted with landowners and issued land passbooks to the legal land owners.

AT SAMBA: Under the initiative of J&K Government to establish transparency and accountability in the functioning of Revenue department, Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta distributed land passbooks among beneficiaries at Conference Hall DC office Samba.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Suram Chand Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Manu Hansa, Tehsildar Samba Rampal, besides other revenue field officials were also present at the function.In all 100 passbooks were distributed in district Samba, including 04 beneficiaries who received Land Passbooks from Lt Governor of UT, J&K while attending the main function at convention center Jammu.

Similar land pass-book distribution camps were also organized at Sub Divisional level in Vijaypur and Ghagwal where SDM Vinay Sharma and Ramkesh Sharma distributed passbooks among beneficiaries, respectively.

AT RAMBAN: As a major initiative towards good governance, Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Mussarat Islam handed over land passbooks to legal owners of land.Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Gias-Ul-Haq, Dy. DEO Lal Chand, Tehsildar Ramban, Rafiq Ahmed and several other officers were present on the occasion.

Describing the initiative as a milestone towards improving services delivery and bringing transparency in the Revenue record system, the DC said that the land passbook has entries in Urdu, English and Hindi languages which will facilitate to fill the information vacuum and promote ease of access to the revenue record.   

The Land Passbook will provide Revenue related information to the land owners in a very simple form, besides shall act as a valid paper to present before financial and other institutions, he added.

AT REASI: In continuation to the celebration of Digital Week, the Revenue Department Reasi   organised a function in the Conference Hall of the District Administrative Complex to disseminate information about IT initiatives of the Revenue department.

As part of these initiatives and as a reform in the public service delivery of the Revenue Department, the District Administration also started to issue Land Passbooks to the legal owners of land.During the programme, Land Passbooks to the land owners of Tehsil Reasi, Bhomag, Thakrakote, Pouni and Katra were distributed by District Development Commissioner, Babila Rakwal.

The steps to avail varied Revenue services online were also explained to participants through a presentation.The Deputy Commissioner termed the initiative as historical towards transparency and Good Governance. She described the initiative as a milestone to improve Services delivery, enhance Transparency and Accountability in Revenue record system.

She added that each Land Pass Book has a unique ID and QR code as an additional security feature and with the help of QR code any institution, individual or an agency can verify the credentials and authenticity of the Land Pass Book.

Speaking about the online revenue services, the Deputy Commissioner said that the J&K Government has launched many digital services including applications for issuing different certificates which will bring ease to the public and transparency in delivery of services to the citizens. 

“Now, applicants need not visit tehsil offices as they will get their Certificate delivered online at their homes. For this purpose, directions have already been issued to all Tehsildars and Khidmat centres across the District to facilitate the general public” she added.

Besides landholders and students, members of District Development Council, ADC, CPO, ACR, ACD, CHO, CAHO, CEO, Teh Bhomag and district officers of various departments, tehsildars and other revenue staff were also present on the occasion.

AT BHADERWAH: ADC Bhadarwah Chowdhary Dilmir distributed Land Pass Books and held an awareness program on e-UNNAT, Aap ki Zameen Aapki Nigrani, and other online revenue services at Sadar Panchayat Kotli.The awareness program, distribution of land pass books was held as a part of ongoing Digital Week Celebrations across the district under the umbrella campaign of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

In all 29 pass books were distributed at ADC Office Bhaderwah and as many as 15 land pass books were distributed to the concerned at Bhalla.The program was attended by Councillor District Development Council Bhaderwah Thakur Yudhvir, Sarpanches, Panches of concerned panchayats, concerned patwaris and a large number of people of adjoining panchayats.
