India’s Indigenous Warship Aircraft INS Vikrant Joins The Navy

Our nation’s first indigenous aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant has joined the Indian navy on September 2, 2022. This largest warship is made up of Rs 20,000 crore at Cochin Shipyard in Kochi which is commissioned by the Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi.

What is INS Vikrant?

Vikrant is India's first indigenous (Swadeshi) built aircraft carrier. INS Vikrant was launched in the year of 12,Aug, 2013. Its length is 262m and its construction started in 2009, 28 Feb. Its builders are Cochin Shipyard. Its specialty is that it is the largest warship ever built in India. Its name has taken up from India's first aircraft carrier which gave services to India from 1961 to 1997 and also played a very important role during the time of war with Pakistan in the year of 1971.

In past times, the Indo-Pacific and Indian Ocean areas were ignored for a long period of time. Security forces did not pay any attention to them, now they have shown their concern about these regions. Officials have said that these are becoming the most important as well as these areas require major defence priority from their sides, even if said that they would increase the budget for the Indian Navy or will help the navy in all directions. Such kinds of the largest warships were taken from developed countries in the past but this warship is India’s indigenous aircraft carrier which helps the Indian military for further wars. By Building this Warship India has steeply forward to become a developed nation by not importing the warship from any strong or developed country. Aviation trials are expected to embark from the Nov to the mid of 2023.
