Assured locals time bound redressal of their grievances; seeks public cooperation in fight against Drugs, Swachta campaign

District Development Commissioner Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan today visited far off Panchayat Gagla in Kastigarh block where he chaired the weekly Block Diwas Program and listened to public issues.During the program numerous public demands pertaining to development, road connectivity, shortage of staff in educational and health institutions, creation of new AWCs, augmentation of power supply, rationalization of staff, creation of sports infrastructure, up-gradation of schools and police station, adequate deployment of police personnel, setting up of stitching units, first aid centres, payment of pending liability of MGNREGA, land acquisition cases, opening of bank branches, besides other general public importance issues and demands were raised by the public representatives, prominent citizens in the program.
Responding to the execution of sanctioned roads under NABARD, the DDC directed the Tehsildar Kastigarh and PWD department to submit the factual report regarding the issue. The Tehsildar was directed to identify a patch of state land in coordination with DYSSO for developing a sports ground for local youth of the area.
For setting up of a stitching unit, the DDC said that the matter will be taken up with NDTV and Usha Silai centre through DSWO Doda. He assured that the centre will be set up soon. The Agriculture, Horticulture, Sheep Husbandry and Animal Husbandry departments were directed to organize regular awareness camps with respect to their schemes for their effective implementation.
The DDC also directed the Animal husbandry department to organize camps for the health checkup of the animals till the permanent centres were set up, while bank officials were asked to write to the higher ups regarding opening of new branches.
The DDC also informed about adopting one Panchayat by one officer for which ACD Doda Volunteered himself and became caretaker of the Panchayat on the spot. The DDC directed the ACD to look into the issues of the Panchayat and make efforts to resolve the same.
Moreover, the DDC informed the public regarding the ensuing swatchta campaign and war against Drug abuse initiative and urged the locals to actively participate in the campaign to make Doda a drug free district. The DDC assured the locals that action taken will be shared with the PRIs within one week, while the issues requiring intervention at higher levels will be addressed to the concerned authorities on priority.
SSP, Abdul Qayoom also apprised about the initiative of the police department with the public and assured time bound redressal of the issues pertaining to his department. He also urged them to extend cooperation to district and police administration in making the Doda a drug free and clean district.
Among others present were BDC Chairperson Kastigarh, Member DDC Kastigarh, ACD Doda, AC Panchayat,CEO Doda, CMO Doda, Ex EN PDD, Ex En PMGSY, CHO Doda, CAHO Doda, besides other district officers and PRIs were also present in the program.
