Extending a Red carpet welcome to the industrial tycoons for investment in the state, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday reiterated the commitment of state government to emerge it as industrial hub of the country. 

“I invite you to not only invest in the best but to become active partners for creating mutually beneficial atmosphere for industrial development ” exhorted the Chief Minister while interacting with Industrial tycoons here. 

Addressing the gathering during the event organized by Invest Punjab and ASSOCHAM at SAS Nagar under the banner of VISION PUNJAB, the Chief Minister asserted that due to congenial atmosphere State has emerged as favourite destination for investment. 

Listing out the various steps to create congenial atmosphere for corporate bigwigs in form of dedicated Single Window System, cheap power and others, Bhagwant Mann said that manufacturing sector is the key for industrial growth as well as to create employment opportunities to check brain drain. 

He envisioned that unprecedented reforms undertaken on both governance and economic fronts by the government will usher in a new era of growth and prosperity.The Chief Minister said that due to industrial friendly policies of the state government Punjab has emerged as most preferred destination of the industrialists. 

Citing an example, he said that after Jamshedpur the biggest ever investment by Tata group is in Punjab as today only the state government has handed over letter to them for setting up their scrap based steel plant at an investment of Rs 2600 crore in first phase at Ludhiana. 

Bhagwant Mann said that this is just the beginning and number of more such projects will follow. The Chief Minister said that uninterrupted power, corruption free administration, supportive government machinery, pool of skilled labour coupled with pro industrial policies of the state government will further give boost to industrial development in the state. 

He said that the day is not far away when Punjab will lead the country in industrial development. Bhagwant Mann said that state government is mulling to start its own trains for showcasing history, legacy and development of state in other parts of country to attract investors.

 Motivating young entrepreneurs, the Chief Minister said that their success and not merely lip service will reflect their strength. He said that Punjabis have been blessed with spirit of hard work, dedication and entrepreneurial skills due to which they have carved a niche for themselves across the globe. 

Bhagwant Mann said that the state government is on verge of creating industrial friendly atmosphere here in Punjab so that our entrepreneurs will write a success story here only. The Chief Minister said that in today’s era big business is coming from small ideas adding that Zomato and Ola are perfect examples of that. 

He said that the state government too is contemplating to promote tourism industry in state adding that the serene places like Ranjit Sagar Dam and Dhar block in state have tremendous potential which is being tapped. 

Bhagwant Mann said that deliberation are on with Tata Sky, Vistara, Air Sky and other airlines to provide best air connectivity from state both within and outside the country.Earlier, enthusiastic audience gave standing ovation to visionary Chief Minister during signing in of an MOU with Tata group to establish Rs 2600 crore project at Ludhiana.

CEO Invest Punjab Kamal Kishor Yadav extended of welcome to Chief Minister and other dignitaries.On the occasion industrial giants also shared their experiences and stressed upon to harness the entrepreneurial skills of Punjabis.
