Block Diwas: DDC Poonch listens to people's issues at Mandi

Assures time bound redress of genuine demands

District Administration Poonch, under the headship of District Development Commissioner, Inder Jeet, on Wednesday organised a Block Diwas programme here at Tehsil complex Mandi and listened to public issues.The programme witnessed overwhelming response from the public belonging to all walks of life.

During the programme, the PRI members and locals raised various development related issues and sought augmentation of water and power supply, Medicare facility and other specific issues. They demanded speedy completion of Cheladangri road, blacktopping and  completion of Chikribann road, Completion of Balnai water Scheme, restoration of power supply to Balnai Panchayat, completion of Mandi Bypass Bridge, Sanctioning of pending pension cases,    repair/blacktopping of road from Mandi bus stand to Budha Amarnath Shrine complex  etc.

Majority of the delegations demanded the constitution of a Committee to assess the losses incurred due to recent rains/flashfloods/landslides and timely rehabilitation and compensation to the affected families.BDC Chairperson Shamim Ganie projected a range of issues of public importance and demanded meeting shortage of staff in schools arisen due to recent transfer of teachers and attachment of teaching staff at various other places. 

The Chairperson also stressed on providing quality services to the people especially in view of ongoing Shree Budha Amarnath ji yatra and Muharram.After listening to the issues of the locals, the DC redressed many grievances on the spot by passing a slew of directions to the concerned officers. 

He assured the public that all their genuine grievances shall be redressed in a time bound manner. He directed the officers to work in coordination with each other and with public representatives so that equitable development is ensured.The concerned officers also addressed the public and assured early redress of issues.District/sectoral officers,  sarpanches, panches and a large number of locals participated in the meeting.
