Chairperson DDC Ramban presides over Weekly Mega Block Diwas meeting at Upper Mahoo

Chairperson District Development Commissioner Ramban, Dr. Shamshad Shan today presided over a Mega Weekly Block Diwas meeting at Upper Mahoo in Sub-division Banihal and listened to the public issues and grievances.

She also urged the people to make ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign a grand successful event in the district.DDC Councillor,  Khari,  Gulshana Begum; Chairperson BDC, Khari, Sajad Hussain; Additional District Development Commissioner, Ramban, Rajinder Sharma; ACD Ashok Katoch; CAO Ashwani Sharma; XEN PMGSY, Tehsildar Khari, BMO Banihal and various other senior officers,    PRIs and prominent citizens participated in meeting.

The Chairperson asked Executive Engineer PMGSY to formulate DPRs for the construction of bridges and roads as demanded by the public including Mahoo to Mangit road, besides ensuring blacktopping of Mangit road.

The Chairperson informed that the demand of JK Bank branch for Mangit has already been brought in the notice of Government. She further informed that Jal Jeevan Mission plan for the area has already been approved and work on the same will be started soon to meet the drinking water requirements of the area.   

Responding to the demand of shortage of teaching staff in schools, the Chairperson asked the ZEO to ensure the deployment of teachers in schools that are facing acute shortage of staff.

The Chairperson also highlighted the youth and job-oriented schemes like Tejswani, Mumkin and others launched by the Government under Mission Youth to provide livelihood opportunities to them.

She also asked Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry and other allied departments to conduct awareness camps and implement all their schemes in areas and provide benefits to farmers.   

On the occasion, the ADDC asked the public to participate in gram sabhas to be part of formulation and execution of local development plans  to ensure need based development. He also asked the people to partner in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.

The ADDC also sensitized the public about rainwater conservation, AB-PMJAY-SEHAT, and other welfare schemes.  He also directed concerned officers to assess the loss that occurred in the area due to recent rain.  

A colorful cultural program featuring Gazal singing, poetry recitation and folk music was presented by locals and students of HS Mangit.Earlier, locals projected several demands including opening of Higher Secondary School in Mangit, construction of Footbridges, up-gradation of transformers, Animal Husbandry Centre for Mangit, deployment of staff in Health and Education institutions, construction of   Bawa to Mangit road, development of tourism-related infrastructure in Mangit valley, Food store for Kurchi.

The Chairperson resolved most of the demands on the spot and assured the people that the rest of the issues would be redressed in a time bound manner.
