Taking on the Union government for waiving loans of Rs 10 lakh crores of corporate companies who have defrauded banks in the last five years, the Aam Admi Party on  Wednesday said that this has exposed its double standards and  "anti-poor" stand.

Addressing a press conference here, party's chief spokesperson Malwinder Singh Kang said that at a time when inflation rate is constantly rising in the country, BJP-led Union government has waived off loan of corporates firms instead of providing financial relief to poverty-stricken common man and farmers.

He said that it is shocking that Modi government has waived off Rs 7,110 crore loan of absconding diamantaire Mehul Choksi's company Gitanjali Gems and Rs 5,879 crore of Era Infra Engineering along with many other big defaulting corporate companies.

The centre government, however, is showing lackadaisical attitude to waive off loan of farmers, Kang added.Kang said that to ease financial burden of Punjab's farmers, AAP government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has announced that the due amount would be paid to the sugarcane farmers by Sugarfed stands at Rs.195.60 crores.

He said that the state government has also decided to cancel all the FIRs registered against the farmers during farm agitation. On the contrary, Centre government has failed to fulfill its promises to farmers including assurance on MSP and loan waiver. He also condemned the decision of Centre government to levy GST on Sarai (Guest House) for pilgrims visiting Golden Temple in Amritsar.
