Mr. Sikander Singh Maluka, Education Minister, Punjab today suspended District Education Officer, Gurdaspur Mrs. Shindo Sahni, District Resource Person Mr. Ram Lubhaya, A.P.C (General) Pawan Mahajan and Clerk Narinder Kumar Sharma on the findings of more than Rs 2 crores embezzlement in funds released for the school dresses and furniture. Mr. Maluka also suspended Director (Administration) Mrs. Manjit Kaur Ghuman, who was posted in the office of DPI (Secondary), for negligence in duty. The Education Minister said that corruption and indiscipline in the Education Department would not be tolerated at any cost and the guilty officers and employees would not be spared. He said that during suspension headquarter of Mrs. Sahni would be Circle Education Office, Nabha while headquarter of Mr. Ram Lubhaya, Mr. Pawan Mahajan and Mr. Narinder Kumar Sharma would be District Education Office, Sangrur. Mr. Maluka said that directions have been issued to the SSP Gurdaspur for registration of FIR against the DEO and others. He said that during suspension headquarter of Mrs. Ghuman would be Circle Education Office, Faridkot.
