In its endeavour to reach out to the people and resolve the grievances at their doorsteps, and as a part of special initiative launched by the Government of J&K, District Administration Doda today held Block Diwas programs at five different locations.

The Block Diwas meetings were held at Panchayat Kuddhar, Kastigarh, Sub Divisional Headquarter, Gandoh, Tehsil Headquarter Bhella, BDO office, Assar, and BDO office, Bhaderwah.

Apart from Grievances redressal and spreading awareness about individual and community welfare schemes, the meetings focused on imparting  awareness/ training about  online services rendered by different departments as a part of celebration of Digital Week.

The Block Diwas programs also witnessed awareness on Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya, Power @ 2047 campaign to highlight the achievements of the government in the power sector.Awareness was also imparted to the public on the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign to celebrate 75 years of India's Independence.

 District Development Commissioner Vikas Sharma listened to public grievances at Panchayat Kuddhar. He was accompanied by BDC Chairperson Abdul Gani Batt, DDC Councillor Santosha Devi, ACD, CEO, CAO, CAHO, DSHO, BDO Kastigarh and other district and sectoral officers.

In his address, the DDC informed that the Block Kastigarh was a priority Block under Aspirational Block Development Programme (ABDP) and it will witness inclusive development in near future.

On the issue of suspension of work on Manwas Road, the DDC constituted a committee headed by ADDC to  resolve the issue in consultation with PRIs and the general public.On the shortage of teaching staff, a committee of ACD, CEO and BDO Kastigarh was entrusted to resolve the public grievance by Saturday this week. 

Regarding pendency under PMAY AWAS and MGNREGA, it was informed that liability has been projected and the same shall be cleared when the funds are made available to the department.

Regarding development of play ground, the DDC asked the concerned to identify state land feasible for developing the playground.The DDC directed the Tehsildar with additional charge of Tehsil Kastigarh to remain available at Tehsil Kastigarh on every Wednesday and Thursday.

Regarding lapse of Capex funds in Panchayat Kuddhar A, the DDC asked the concerned to fix the responsibility on erring contractors/ officials and start disciplinary action against them.

The DDC urged the public to avail the services of different departments through Digital/ Online mode. He informed the public that land pass books shall be issued to all the land holders in coming days.

At all other designated locations, public and PRIs put forth a range of issues and demands. They demanded augmentation of water supply and electricity, macadamization of roads, meeting dearth of staff in schools and hospitals, up-gradation of schools, banking facilities in rural areas, release of pending wages under MGNREGA etc.

The Presiding officers gave patient hearing to the issues and demands and directed the concerned officers to prepare a list of issues/grievances raised pertaining to their departments and resolve the same at an earliest.

As many as 83 grievances/ applications were received at all locations out of which 68 were disposed of on the spot.Besides, 38 Domicile certificates, 24 Category certificates, 25 birth/ death certificates and 72 other revenue extracts were issued to the eligible beneficiaries.

Meanwhile 11 eligible beneficiaries were issued KCC, while 1292 works were started under MGNREGA, District Capex, 14th FC and other schemes till date. Also 1750 scholarship forms were received and 05 applications of eligible beneficiaries were received for pension under ISSS and NSAP schemes.
