MLA Harmeet Pathanmajra distributes prizes of 13th Punjab State Deaf Chess Championship

The Punjab Deaf & Dumb Sports Association, Patiala Affiliated with “All India Sports Council of the Deaf, New Delhi” organized the 13th Punjab State Deaf Chess Championship at School for the Deaf & Blind, Saifidipur. Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, MLA Sanour was the Chief Guest of this championship. 

He has distributed the prizes to winners & runners-up players. Pathanmajra assured all possible help to the organizers and the school. The differently abled and the Deaf children are in no way less than normal children but they have more talent, which should be recognized and brought forward in studies and sports, said MLA Pathanmajra.

Principal Renu Singla, Jagdip singh president Patiala Association of the Deaf, Chander Parkash and Navdeep sharma general secretary pddsa informed the MLA that the championship was organized for the selection of Punjab State Deaf Chess Team to participate 23rd National Deaf Chess Championship at Ahmedabad (Gujarat) from 27th to 31st July 2022, which will be organized by “All India Sports Council of the Deaf, New Delhi.

Principal Renu Singla said that in this championship, a total of 42 players have participated from all over Punjab State. Out of these total players, 24 Senior Men, 2 Senior Women, 11 Junior Boys and 5 Junior Girls participated at School for the Deaf & Blind, Saifidipur Village, Patiala.

Jagdip singh president Patiala Association of the Deaf on the behalf of association thanked Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, M.L.A. to boost the morale of Deaf Players & also promised to help the association at every field & level in financial, job factors & social matters every time.
