The makers of Vikram Vedha have responded to claims that Hrithik Roshan's demands caused the movie's budget to quadruple. According to recent media reports, the actor who plays the gangster Vedha in the action movie requested a UAE film set rather than have the scenes shot in Uttar Pradesh.

The movie's co-producer, Reliance Entertainment, debunked these rumours in a statement on Monday. Reliance Entertainment confirmed that filming was taking place in Abu Dhabi but referred to the reports as "misleading" in a statement that trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted on his Twitter account.

"We have been noticing a lot of misleading and totally unsubstantiated reporting on Vikram Vedha shoot locations. We clearly want to state that Vikram Vedha has been shot extensively in India, including Lucknow. A portion of the film was shot in the United Arab Emirates in October-November of 2021 since it was the only location providing infrastructure for a bio-bubble that accommodated a crew of such scale, also allowing the building of sets in a studio during the preceding months of the shoot. We chose to do that out of health and protocol concerns. Any attempts to twist this set of facts are clearly mischievous and untruthful," read a part of the statement by Vikram Vedha makers.

Reliance Entertainment further clarified, "We chose to do that out of health and protocol concerns. Any attempts to twist these set of facts are clearly mischievous and untruthful." The production house also said that the film actors are not usually involved in making such decisions. They said, "Also, we would like to emphatically state that at Reliance Entertainment while we welcome suggestions from creative talent, the production and budgetary decisions are a centralised prerogative."

For the unversed, Pushkar and Gayathri's Vikram Vedha will see Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan share screen space. The movie is the official Hindi remake of R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi's Tamil film of the same name.
