Public Darbar held at Shogapora, Budgam

DC stresses on prompt redressal of public issues

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza today chaired a public darbar at Shogpora in Parnewa Block of Budgam.On the occasion, Sarpanches, Panches and other respected from panchayat halqas of Handjan, Falchal, Sandipora, Kathwar, Shogpora,  Gojra, Bikamnar and other villages raised their demands and issues with the DC.

Among, other issues locals demanded adequate water supply for Shogpora, Kathwar, Bikamnar and Falchal areas, road development between Kathwara- Budgam, Falchal- Budgam, Kathwar - Tilampora, Bikamnar- Shogpora, PMGSY roads, removal of Kaah Charai encroachments and development of playground for local youth, filtration plants, improvement in HT, LT lines, transformers, construction of culverts, restoration of irrigation canals, compensation to land providers of Gojra- Dalwan road project, covering of reservoir at Hayatpora, transport facility and functioning of PHC Shogpora, education and other related facilities availability in these areas.

After giving patient hearing to the demands of locals, the DC assured that all their genuine demands shall be taken up for early redressal.On the occasion, the PHE authorities informed the gathering that a number of water supply schemes have been earmarked for Shogpora, Falchal and other areas including construction of OHTs for adequate potable water supply to local residents.

The District Officers also gave awareness about their departmental schemes for locals particularly about Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry and health related schemes.

The DC instructed Panchayat members to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of proper sanitation in all panchayat blocks of Parnewa. He urged PRIs to ensure a ban on use of one-time plastic items and dumping of garbage on roadside and in open areas.

He stressed that the public should use separate dustbins for proper disposal of garbage generated daily by the households.The DC also directed the concerned to ensure land identification for establishments of segregation sheds and dumping sites in each panchayat halqas for proper garbage disposal.

Among others, CEO, CMO, Executive Engineers from various Engineering Wings, District heads of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, ARTO, BDO, DMO and other concerned officers and officials were also present on the occasion.Later, DC also visited under construction PHC Shogpora and OHT Bikamnar and water reservoir to take stock of progress of work.
