Hrithik Roshan is currently preparing for the premiere of his eagerly anticipated movie, Vikram Vedha. In the upcoming movie, in which he will appear with Saif Ali Khan, the actor will be seen portraying a gangster. The film is an official translation into Hindi of the same-titled Tamil film starring R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi. Although the movie is one of Hrithik Roshan's most anticipated, there are rumours that it will be the most expensive of his career.

The latest rumours indicate that Vikram Vedha, which is scheduled to hit theatres on September 30 this year, is being made on a hefty budget. According to rumours, Gayatri and Pushkar were eager to finish the film on a tight budget, just like their Tamil counterparts. Hrithik, however, had another idea in his head.

The directors planned to shoot the movie in Uttar Pradesh, exactly like they did for the Tamil version in Tamil Nadu, a source told Bollywood Life, confirming the same. The Krrish star, however, rejected the suggestion and argued instead "to recreate the same alleyways of Uttar Pradesh using elaborate sets in Dubai, which has supposedly immediately doubled the film's budget."

Even though the Tamil movie's production cost was only Rs. 11 crore, it brought in about Rs. 60 crore at the box office. However, it is now said that the Hindi version's budget has risen to Rs 175 crore. It's true what you just read!

If the rumours are accurate, Vikram Vedha may end up being Hrithik Roshan's most expensive undertaking to date. It's interesting to note that War, the actor's most expensive film to date, had a budget of between Rs. 155 and 158 crores. Along with Deepika Padukone and Vikram Vedha, Hrithik also has Fighter in his filmography.
