BJP State executive meeting of minority morcha was held in BJP Headquarters Deepkamal under the leadership of Minority morcha cheif Raj Balli.State General secretary Trilok Jamwal, State Secretary Tilak Raj and State incharge for minority morcha Dr Majid Camando were present in the meeting.
BJP State General secretary Trilok Jamwal while addressing the inaugural session of the meet said As many as 20 lakh more minority students received education scholarships under the Narendra Modi government than during the tenure of the second Congress-led UPA administration.
While 3.14 crore minority students secured government scholarships between 2014 and 2019, the number stood at 2.94 crore for the second Manmohan Singh dispensation, which was in office from 2009-2014. This translates to a rise of 7 per cent in beneficiaries under the Modi government.
The Ministry of Minority Affairs recognises six minority communities — Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis and Jains. Of these, the Jains got minority status in 2014.Among Muslims, who constitute the largest minority group in the country, 2.37 crore students got a government scholarship under the first Modi government.
Under UPA-II, the figure stood at 2.33 crore.According to annual ministry data accessed and compared by, the central government spent Rs 8,715.4 crore on education scholarships between 2014 and 2019, against Rs 5,360.4 crore from 2009-2014.
The Ministry of Minority Affairs hands out scholarships at three levels — pre-matric, post-matric, and for undergraduate and postgraduate students.He said BJP party men have won the trust of the minorities, adding 'Sab ka vishwas' to our ' sab ka saath, sab ka vikas' slogan.
True work for minority welfare has been done only by the BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.Modi government has given 5 Ministers in his government 1 Muslim, 1 Sikh, 2 Buddhists and 1 Christian.He said for Economic Empowerment of the minorities Modi government is focusing on Skill Development.
We have Seekho aur Kamao, USTTAD (Upgrading the Skills and Training in Traditional Arts/ Crafts for Development), Nai Manzil - A scheme to provide education and skill training to the youth from Minority Communities and Concessional credit through National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC) which are largely benefitting the minorities of our country.
He said it is for the first time in himachal that any government and wakf board has made 15 massive schemes for the minorities of our state.Jairam Government and wakf baord is giving financial assistance of Rs 25000 to muslim women geeting married from the weaker section of the society.
Health benefits of Rs 5000 and Samajik Suraksha pension to widows, old age women are some flagship programmes to be mentioned. Our government has also helped by providing financial assistance to those Majid's which do not have an imam or are in dilapidated conditions.
Jamwal said that Congress always divided our community but it is BJP which has United our vast nation.Congress has ruled by building fears in minority communities but BJP has made them self reliant and stronger for their development.
