DLSA-K in collaboration with GDC Kulgam observes International Day against Drug Abuse

The District Legal Services Authority Kulgam (DLSA-K) under the Chairmanship of Chairman District legal Services Authority Kulgam, Tahir Khurshid Raina (Pr. District and Sessions Judge Kulgam) today observed International Day against Drug Abuse in collaboration with Govt. Degree College Kulgam and District Health Services Kulgam. 

In his welcome address, Principal Govt. Degree College Kulgam welcomed the guests and raised concern over growing drug menace. The Chairman DLSA Kulgam In his keynote address stated that it is disheartening to see the depth of drug menace in society. 

He discussed some practical experiences with students with the hope that they will serve as ambassadors of DLSA Kulgam and spread the message in the entire district.President Bar Association M Shafi Bhat highlighted the provisions of NDPS Act.

Incharge Drug De-Addiction Centre Anantnag, Mudasir in her address stated that the need is to understand that drug abuse is a disease like any other disease and needs treatment. She highlighted the role of parents in curbing the menace.

Speaking on the occasion, an official of DPO Kulgam Zahid presented statistical data through Power point presentation and discussed the various provisions governing the subject. Medical officer District Hospital Kulgam, Dr. Aman Kucchay discussed the health hazards and withdrawal symptoms.Secretary District Legal Services Authority Kulgam, Mehreen Mushtaq addressed vote of thanks.
