No laxity in duty would be tolerated punctuality and accountability of officers and employees should be strictly ensured otherwise be ready to face the consequences. After surprise checking at district Hospital Mansa & Sub pision Hospital Giddarbaha Health Minister, Punjab Mr. Surjit Kumar Jayani today issued a strict advisory to the employees of the Health Department to discharge their duty with full dedication. He said that if any doctor, official or employee found guilty of not performing his duty properly, action would be taken. Minister warned the employees approaching him with lame excuses to find escape route to avoid action.Minister also issued a strict warning regarding the sale of banned drugs & sale of drugs without the prescription of the competent authority at Medical stores.  He said that Drug Inspectors should regularly conduct surprise raids at Medical Stores and take strict action against such people. He added that the action taken reports should be sent to the Head Office on regular basis. He also instructed that Drug Inspectors would be held responsible for such irregular practices at Medical stores. 

He further added that all senior officials from the Head office of the Health Department would also conduct surprise checks at Medical stores and if any irregular practice found then Drug Inspectors would be held responsible.Health Minister said that he would continuously conduct surprise checks at hospitals all over the state and interact with the patients and general public. He has issued a warning to the Civil Surgeons & SMO’s that as per his earlier instructions proper Medical facilities should be provided the patients, wards should be neat and clean and compounds of the hospitals should be flourished with greenery.  ‘No official would be spared who does not perform their duty properly and the district level officers should also ensure timely attendance of supporting staff in hospitals’, added Jayani.
