Div Com Jammu flags off Mata Kheer Bhawani Yatra

Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar on Tuesday flagged off the annual pilgrimage to Mata Kheer Bhawani shrine in Tulmulla of Ganderbal district here from Nagrota, Jammu.

A fleet of 14 buses with around 250 devotees onboard left for the pilgrimage to Mata Kheer Bhawani Tulmulla and other shrines (Logripora, Manzgam and Devsar) in Kashmir Valley to pay their obeisance on the eve of Zeshta Ashtami.

Deputy Commissioner,  Relief and Rehabilitation (M) Devinder Singh Bhau, Assistant Commissioners Relief and all Zonal Officers, Camp Commanders and staff members of Relief Organization were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Div Com said that elaborate arrangements have been made to make the pilgrimage a memorable experience for the devotees. The divisional level and the district administrations of Udhampur and Ramban have made all possible arrangements for hassle-free and comfortable Yatra.

“The Relief Organization coordinated these special arrangements for the smooth and hassle-free journey of pilgrims. To facilitate the devotees, special pick up points were arranged at different locations in Jammu City, besides Jagti, Purkhoo, Nagrota, Talab Tillo and Muthi Camps’ he added.

Meanwhile, District Administration Ramban accorded a warm welcome to Shri Mata Kheer Bhawani Ji Yatra.   Chairperson, District Development Council, Ramban, Dr. Shamshad Shan and the Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam received the devotees.  

  President Municipal Council, Ramban, Sunita Sumbria, Additional Superintendent of Police, Rajni Sharma, CEO, MC, Vishwjeet, Dy.SP, Pardeep Singh, Tehsildar Rafiq Ahmed, President Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Ramban, Aashish Sharma, religious leaders and prominent citizens were also present on the occasion. 

While wishing the devotees a comfortable pilgrimage, the Chairperson DDC advised them to follow all guidelines to enjoy their spiritual journey.The Deputy Commissioner along with officers also interacted with the yatries to have first hand information regarding the facilities at the Langar.  

The DC said that the District Administration, in coordination with social and religious originations, made adequate arrangements with regard to their lunch, security and other essential services.After taking lunch at Kowbag Mandir Ramban, the yarties proceeded for the onward Journey to  Tulmulla Kashmir.
