Veteran Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah stepped in the political turmoil over  Nupur Sharma’s controversial statement over Prophet Mohammad, where he  added that the government's action on this was late & slacked. He appealed to prime minister Modi & targeted top notch Bollywood actors for silence that have adored on this matter.

It’s high time & PM Modi should come forward:

Naseer said, show me any such statement or recording in which Muslims have said something on Hindu gods and goddesses. I think the time has come. If PM Modi wants to stop the hatred spreading in the society, then he must come forward. Naseer said that today the situation is that if a Muslim talks about his rights, then he is targeted. After all, why don't we see everyone as an Indian?

Government has done a little:

Naseeruddin Shah has condemned the death threats to Nupur Sharma and her family. This has never happened in India. It suits countries like Pakistan and Afghanistan. We don't even want to talk about such countries. But we have to think in what direction we are moving? Today people are being beaten to death in the country, such things did not happen in India, all this used to happen in barbaric Islamic countries.
