Autism is medically known as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It is a mental developmental disorder that children are more prone to. It is also termed as Neurological Disorder by health experts. Once a child is diagnosed with autism, the mental balance of a child shrinks. The person suffering from this has problems in talking, in reading and writing and in socialising in the society. This is a commendable effort by the United Nations, which declares that autism can be rooted out.

According to WHO, one in 100 children has autism.

Autism is a condition in which a person's brain works differently than other people's. At the same time, people suffering from autism are also different from each other or we can say that the symptoms of autism vary from person to person.

Diagnosis and Intervention Treatment Services is an effective option:

Although people suffering from this disease are able to work, socialise with family and friends, sometimes they have to take help from others for this. While some autistic people have difficulty in reading and writing, some patients with autism are either very fast or normal in reading and writing.

Emotional support plays big role:

Emotional support can prove to be a boon. With the invaluable support of family, teachers or friends, suffering people are also able to learn new skills and are able to work without any support. Some studies have shown that early access to diagnosis and intervention treatment services can help autistic people learn social behaviours and new skills, helping them live their lives better.

According to the report produced by University of Cambridge:

Autistic individuals are more likely to have chronic mental and physical health conditions, suggests new research from the University of Cambridge. Autistic individuals also report lower quality healthcare than others.

Let’s put a glance on types of Autism:

The three types of autism, described below:

1. Autistic Disorder:

Autistic disorder is also known as classic autism. This is the most common type of autism. People who are affected by this disorder of autism have difficulties in social behaviour and in interacting with other people. In addition, habits such as being interested in unusual things, behaving unusually, bottlenecks, stuttering, or talking infrequently can also be symptoms of autistic disorder. At the same time, in some cases a decrease in intellectual ability is also seen.

2. Asperger's Syndrome:

This syndrome is considered the mildest form of autistic disorder. Individuals suffering from this syndrome may sometimes seem strange with their behaviour, but they can be very interested in certain subjects. However, these people do not have any problems related to mental or social behaviour.

3. Pervasive Developmental Disorders:

Because of its ineffectiveness, it is not usually considered a type of autism. It is only in certain situations that people are considered to be suffering from this disorder.

Symptoms of Autism:

According to the study, the symptoms of a child with autism usually appear from birth or by the age of one and a half years, which can further range from mild to severe, these problems can affect the personality for the whole life. Facts provided by WHO (World Health Organisation) on Autism:

  • Autism – also referred to as autism spectrum disorder ̶ constitutes a diverse group of conditions related to development of the brain

  • About one in 100 children has autism.

  • Characteristics may be detected in early childhood, but autism is often not diagnosed until much later.

  • The abilities and needs of autistic people vary and can evolve over time. While some people with autism can live independently, others have severe disabilities and require life-long care and support.

  • Evidence-based psychosocial interventions can improve communication and social skills, with a positive impact on the well-being and quality of life of both autistic people and their caregivers.

  • Care for people with autism needs to be accompanied by actions at community and societal levels for greater accessibility, inclusivity and support.

World's best experts believe that genetics and environment combined can be the cause of disease in a person.

Genetics Factors:

If autism runs in your genetics or you have autism then it is likely to be passed on to your offspring. Autism spectrum disorder or ASD can also be associated with genetic mutations that occur during pregnancy and can be triggered by an external factor. In other cases, brain development or imbalanced brain cells communicate.

Environmental factors:

Scientists still do not know much about the triggers associated with autism. Factors such as viral infections, strong medications, environmental pollution or genetic imbalances during pregnancy.

Foods that can have a positive effect on autism:

The following foods and diets can have a positive effect in curing autism, but before using them, consult a certified specialist. It is worth noting that there are no set guidelines for autism:

  • Omega-3 Fatty Acid

  • Magnesium Supplements

  • Melatonin Supplements

  • Gluten Free & Lactose free Diet

Home remedies that can prove helpful in Autism:

It is advisable to avoid gluten, sugar, soy etc. Communication therapy, behavioural and speech therapy should be practised at home so that the patient feels safe and positive.

Signs of great potential in Ayurveda:

Ayurveda and Chinese therapy may also be sought as alternative natural home remedies.
