Emergency: After Failure Of Dhaakad, Kangana Ranaut Starts Preparing For Upcoming Political Drama

Kangana Ranaut has always been in news headlines, be it her outspoken voice, movies, direction, or her post. Kangana Ranaut has begun work on her next project just days after the release of her film Dhaakad, which did not fare well at the box office. Kangana Ranaut's second directorial effort, Emergency, follows Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. 

The actor travelled to Delhi to begin filming scouting. The actor shared photos from her reece and mentioned she is most comfortable being a filmmaker. “Of all the roles I play, I am most comfortable in being a filmmaker,” she wrote. Sharing another photo, Kangana wrote, “Recee Day 1. Don’t mess with me in my resting pose.”

Earlier, talking about the film, Kangana wrote, “Pleased to wear the director's hat again. After working on Emergency for more than a year, I finally figured no one can direct it better than me. Collaborating with fabulous writer Ritesh Shah. Even if it means sacrificing on various acting assignments, I am determined to do it. My excitement is high. This is going to be a tremendous journey.”

Kangana has earlier explained in a statement that Emergency is not a biopic, but a political drama. She had mentioned, “It is not the biopic of Indira Gandhi. It is a grand period film. To be precise, it is a political drama that will help my generation to understand the socio-political landscape of current India.”

Meanwhile, speaking of the Workfront, besides Emergency, Kangana also has Tejas lined up for release. She plays an Air Force pilot in the film. Also, reports reveal that she has also wrapped up shooting her production, Tiku Weds Sheru, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur. She has also announced the Manikarnika sequel and Sita: The Incarnation. Let’s see how her upcoming film adjusts at the box office.
