DDC Doda discusses modalities for implementation of Amrit Sarovar Mission

District Development Commissioner Doda, Vikas Sharma today discussed the modalities for implementation of Amrit Sarovar Mission in the district, here at a meeting of the concerned officers.The meeting was attended by ADDC Doda, ADC Doda, SE Hydraulics, CEO BDA, ACR Doda, CPO Doda, ACD Doda, CAO Doda, AC Panchayat Doda, District Soil Conservation Officer, besides, representatives of Horticulture and Forest departments.Pertinently, Amrit Sarovar Mission is aimed at developing and rejuvenating water bodies as a part of the celebration of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav.’Underlining the objective of the Mission, the DDC apprised that the initiative aims to recharge and conserve water. He also said that under the mission, the ponds coming within the norms would be rejuvenated and designated as Amrit Sarovars.

The DDC directed the ACD to submit the details of ponds which have been rejuvenated-created in the last two years under different heads of RDD along with the details of ponds being created in the current financial year, panchayat wise, so that exact data shall be formulated at district level.The ACR was asked to submit the details of Gair mumkin khads, Dariya, nallas, water bodies as per the revenue record vis a vis their current status as on date.Referring to the water bodies under the Forest department, the DDC directed the concerned to submit their action plan in detail.  The ACD was asked to coordinate with concerned departments so that exact data was derived with regard to the number of water bodies/ponds and exact figures were entered into the designated portal by the Nodal agency. The DDC also reviewed the action taken with regard to the ponds identified by the NGT in the district.
