DDC Kupwara reviews progress of Mega Health Camp; directs to cover all registered patients

The  District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara,  Khalid Jahangir today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress of Mega Health Camp in district Kupwara, which is under way with effect from 11th of this month till date and extended by Government up to June 02,.The meeting was informed that 400 surgeries have been so far performed during the camp which includes 49 general surgeries, 219 cataracts, 109 Ligation, 22 LSCS and one ENT surgery. The DDC directed the CMO Kupwara and Medical Superintendent District Hospital Handwara to revisit their strategies of performance and ensure that the number of surgeries increase in the Mega Health Camp as the government has extended the health camp till June 02. 

The DDC on the spot called Director Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) over phone and asked him to retain 15 doctors and paramedics at Kupwara till the culmination of the health camp. The staff was deployed by DHSK to mega health camp Kupwara and shall now be retained to June 02.  He asked Medical Superintendents to work with same zeal and motivation and continue the efforts to serve the patients during the camp and surpass other districts in number.The DDC also directed Medical Superintendent SDH Kupwara that the routine work including OPD should not suffer due to engagements in the health camp.  He directed him to ensure that SDH Kupwara should run round the clock in real sense as the hospital is catering the requirement of large population living in far off areas. 

Referring to the Aspirational District Programme indicators, the DDC asked Health officers to ensure coordinated efforts to fulfil the standards of health indicators. He stressed upon them to work on basic health lifestyle, food habits including balanced diet  as it has proved game changer for maintaining good health especially in children. He asked them to conduct a massive awareness campaign at village level and involve the services of Health  workers, Anganwadi workers and ASHAs for the purpose. He advised them that small things matter a lot if taken wholeheartedly, adding that we all need to work for our society together.Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Town Commander Kupwara, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Chief Medical Officer, Medical Superintendents of Kupwara and Handwara, District Information Officer Kupwara, Executive Engineer R&B Division, Kupwara, Accounts Officer and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
