The Prakatya Parva or Jayanti of Lord Narasimha is celebrated on the Chaturdashi of Shukla Paksha of Vaishakh month. This year this festival is today i.e. 14th May, on Saturday.

Narasimha Avatar is one of the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu. Lord Narasimha is the god of power and might and is known as the destroyer of enemies. On this day Lord Vishnu killed Hiranyakashipu, the king of demons, wearing the body of half-man and half-lion to protect his devotee Prahlad.

Worship method of Narasimha Jayanti 2022:

Today, start with the  meditation on Lord Narasimha, an incarnation of Shri Har. On the other hand, for worship, install a picture or an idol by laying a yellow cloth in a post. After this, do Jalabhishek through a conch shell or lota. After this, offer flowers, garlands, yellow sandalwood, akshat etc. to the incarnation of Shri Hari. After this, offer coconut, saffron, fruits and sweets. Then chant the mantras while meditating on God by lighting a ghee lamp and incense. Along with this, keep a fast from sunrise to sunrise on the second day without eating food.

 Worship Mantra-

And chant the Narasimha Beej Mantra "Kshraum" for 40 days. All your wishes will be fulfilled. Keep in mind that chant this mantra only at night and light a ghee lamp before chanting.

Narasimham Bhishanam Bhadram Mrityam Mrityam Namamayam. 

Narasimha Pranama:

namas te narasimhaya, prahlad ahlada-dayine

hiranyakasipu vakshah, sila-tanka-nakhalaye

Meaning - “I offer my respectful obeisances unto You, Lord Narasimhadeva. You are the giver of pleasure to Maharaja Prahlada, and Your nails cut the chest of Hiranyakashipu like a chisel cutting stone.”

ito narasimhah parato narasimho, yato yato yami tato narasimha

bahir narasimho hrdaye narasimho, narasimham adim sharanam prapadye

Meaning - “Lord Narasimhadeva is here, and He is also there on the opposite side. Wherever I go, there I see Lord Narasimhadeva. He is outside and within my heart. Therefore I take shelter of Lord Narasimhadeva, the original Supreme Personality of Godhead."

Sri-Shankaracharya composed Sarva Siddhi Ke Rin-mochan (Debt-Redemption) stotra Sampoornam.

Narasimha Jayanti 2022 Date & Time:

On the day of Narasimha Jayanti, worship is done in the evening. The reason behind this is that the demon Hiranyakashipu had a boon that he cannot be killed by any prahar, land, air, sky, fire and no human, deity, animal and bird. So Lord Vishnu took Narasimha avatar to save his devotee Prahlad and he came out tearing a pillar. Along with this, he killed Hiranyakashipu by keeping his thighs in the threshold. Along with this, the time for slaughter was chosen between the end of the day and the beginning of the evening. For this reason, worshipping Lord Narasimha in the evening is considered auspicious.

Importance of worshipping Lord-Narasimha

• Worship of Lord Narasimha increases morale, which increases self-confidence.

• Their worship and chanting removes the negativity of the house, the evil forces run away and one gets bravery, brilliance and strength.

• One must worship Lord Vishnu's Narasimha avatar for material and spiritual progress.

• According to Padma Purana, by worshipping this fierce form of Lord Vishnu, sins end and all the troubles in life are removed.

• Narasimha Mantra gets rid of Tantra Mantra obstacles, fear of ghosts, demons, premature death, incurable diseases etc. and peace is attained in life.

• Just as Lord Vishnu protected the devotee Prahlad, in the same way, remembering Lord Narasimha at the time of any kind of crisis, the devotees get instant relief from the crisis.

• Devotees who worship Lord Narasimha by law on the day of Narasimha Jayanti, they get victory over their enemies. There is victory in court cases.
