This special day is celebrated as the achievement of India's technological progress, as the country successfully tested nuclear weapons in Pokhran, Rajasthan on 11 May 1998.It was decided to celebrate this day as National Technology Day to commemorate the success of many more important technical inspections.
This year's theme is "Integrated Approaches in Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future".

Gradually, in the field of technology and science, India has achieved many achievements one by one. So National Technology Day is celebrated every year to take it to the general public and to remember and thank those who contributed behind it. On May 11, 1998, India under the leadership of the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee tested three atomic bombs simultaneously in Pokhran, Rajasthan. At that time a 5.3 reactor scale earthquake was recorded in the surrounding areas. This test was named Shakti by the Research Department of India. Exactly 2 days later, that is, on May 13, two more nuclear bombs were tested again. Since then, India's name has also been included in the list of nuclear-rich countries. The countries which used to underestimate India earlier were also praising India. This nuclear bomb test in Pokhran was done under the leadership of former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Exactly one year after this achievement, that is, from the year 1999, the day of May 11 was celebrated as National Technology Day.
Importance of National Technology Day
This day is special because of the testing of atomic bombs, but on this day another such achievement was achieved by India, due to which the day of 11th May was chosen for its celebration and that is Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). Successful test of Trishul missile. Trishul is a short-range missile that strikes its target rapidly. Apart from this, India's first aircraft Hansa-3 also took off on the same day. Which was prepared by the National Aerospace Lab. This two-seater light aircraft was designed to train pilots, do aerial photography and be used for environmental projects.
