Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore who began her career in films with Satyajit Ray's 1959 release Apur Sansar is grabbing the news toplines for her comeback in Bollywood. Yes, you read that right! The actress who wowed the audience in her first attempt and gave commercial hits one after another is all set for her next release.Sharmila Tagore took a break from the big screen after the 2010 release, Break Ke Baad. The film featured Deepika Padukone and Imran Khan and garnered immense love from the viewers. Now, after an 11-year-long pause, Tagore is all set to make her comeback. She will be seen in Rahul Chittella's Gulmohar co-starring National Award-winning actors Manoj Bajpayee and Amol Palekar.With this amazing star cast, the excitement level has surely increased and we can’t stop ourselves from knowing more about the upcoming film. Speaking of the roles, Sharmila will essay the role of a matriarch of the Batra family. It spins around the family, who after 34 years, is set to move out of their ancestral home. As they take this big step, they re-discover their familial bonds.Tagore, who plays the head of the family, opened up about her role and said, "I agreed almost immediately to be a part of Team Gulmohar - after the moving narration of this heartwarming and beautifully written story and script."
Not only Tgaore but Manoj also shared his excitement about starring in Gulmohar, “For me, there were many reasons to sign the film, firstly the narrative of the film was extremely candid and relatable.” The Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari actor, also said that it is an 'honour' to share the screen space with Sharmila Tagore.Coming to the credits, the film’s original music is composed by Siddhartha Khosla (This is Us). Gulmohar is a Fox Star Studios production in association with Chalkboard Entertainment and Autonomous Works. Moreover, the upcoming film Gulmohar has been directed by Rahul Chittella. It is written by Rahul Chittella and Arpita Mukherjee. The release date has still been kept under the wrap, hope they unveiled it soon.
