Industrialists of four Malwa districts hails AAP govt’s decision seeking suggestions from public regarding forthcoming Janta Budget

Industrialists and traders from four major districts of Malwa region of Punjab including Sangrur, Patiala, Barnala and Malerkotla hailed Aam Aadmi Party led state government’s decision of seeking suggestions from public regarding forthcoming Budget. The industrialists said that seeking suggestions from public regarding forthcoming “Janta Budget” is a historic change. They added that it is for the first time ever that any government has been seeking suggestions from the people for the budget.While chairing the meeting here in the meeting hall of District Administrative Complex Sangrur, Punjab Finance, Planning, Programme Implementation, Excise and Cooperation Minister Harpal Singh Cheema assured the industrialists that their valuable suggestions will surely be considered in the drafting of the upcoming ‘Janta Budget’. He added that it was the part of the policy of AAP government which enable common people to participate in its important decisions. He added that apart from taking online suggestions, he and his team has continuously visiting several districts from last few days to get the feedback of people from the grass-root level.

This meeting was also attended by MLAs Manjit Singh Bilaspur, Varinder Goyal, Narinder Kaur Bharaj, Ajitpal Singh Kohli, Dr. Balbir Singh, Gurdev Singh Dev Maan, Chetan Singh Jauramajra, Neena Mittal, Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, Gurlal Singh Ghanaur, Kulwant Singh Bazigar, Kulwant Singh Pandori, Jaswant Singh Gajjanmajra, Jameel Ur Rehman, AAP Barnala District President Gurdeep Bath, besides several others.During his address to the industrialists, Harpal Singh Cheema said that sadly, previous governments in the state had not taken any concrete steps to address the problems related to the industry, due to which industrial development did not take place properly and if steps for upliftment of industry are not taken now, it could have serious consequences. The minister said that their government has been committed for the holistic development of Punjab and corruption in any manner will not be tolerated at any level.“We have already advertised more than 26000 government jobs, besides several other people-friendly decisions have already been taken. Even seeking suggestions from all sections of society in our first ever budget is in itself a revolutionary step,” he added.

The Finance Minister said that when people give their suggestions, they should also share their grievances and their grievances would be resolved accordingly. He appealed to the people of Punjab to give maximum positive suggestions for the Janta budget so that for the first time in Punjab, a budget of people's choice could be prepared.He said those interested in giving suggestions can leave a message at the portal finance.punjab.gov.in or at email ID punjabdabudget@gmail.com till May 10, 2022 to participate in the preparation of the budget. He informed that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has also already directed all MLAs to interact with public in their respective constituencies and seek their suggestions.He shared that till date, more than 1 lakh suggestions have already been received.The industrialists who shared their suggestions regarding budget included Ricela Chairman A.R. Sharma, Ghanshyam Kansal, Amarjit Singh Teetu, Jatinder Singh Sandhu, Nachhattar Singh, Vijay Garg besides several others.Prominent among those present on the occasion included Deputy Secretary Finance Udaydeep Singh Sidhu, Deputy Commissioner Sangrur Jatinder Jorwal, DC Patiala Sakshi Sahwney, ADC general Sangrur Anmol Singh Dhaliwal, ADC D Varjit Walia, ADC Barnala Amit Bamby, AC Devdarshdeep Singh besides several others.
