The doors of Kedarnath Dham will open from tomorrow and Badrinath on 8th of this month. This year travellers will have to wear Hand-Bands too, for their convenience.The annual pilgrimage is being held after a gap of two years owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Explanation

The Portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri, popularly known as Chardham, were opened for devotees on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya (May 3), also wished & by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, by a tweet, “May 03, the doors of “Yamunotri Dham” dedicated to Goddess Yamuna will open on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. I wish all of you devotees a devotional, smooth and pleasant Chardham Yatra. #ChardhamYatra2022″. The doors of two other Dhams, Kedarnath and Badrinath will open on May 6 and May 8 respectively.

Guidelines

The state government has fixed the number of pilgrims to visit each Dham daily keeping the Covid norms in concern, as the Yatra was cancelled for the last two years by the Government due to pandemic outbreak.

Online Registration & Fixed Number of Devotees

In view of the huge rush of devotees thronging for registration on the online portal of the Tourism Department for Chardhams, the state government has fixed the maximum number of devotees visiting the Dhams daily. According to an order issued in this regard by the state's Culture and Endowment Secretary Harichandra Semwal, a maximum of 15,000 pilgrims will be able to visit Badrinath every day, 12000 in Kedarnath, 7000 in Gangotri and 4000 in Yamunotri.
