Free medical camp organized

SAS Free Poly Clinic Trust (Regd), Vill Perch organized a Free medical camp, in collaboration with the ENT Dept of PGIMER, at the premises of the Gurudwara this morning for the Poor & Needy rural brethren belonging to a number of villages around Majra. This was the second such camp by the Trust to provide health care service at the door step to those who cannot commute to the PGIMER or Trust’s Poly Clinic at Vill Perch. First similar Camp was held at Teera Village during Feb 2011.  

More than 250 patients were examined by the team of ENT specialists from PGIMER and two homeopaths from the Trust. Out of that 15 persons have been asked to visit the concerned doctor at the PGI for further investigations and treatment. The services provided at the camp included consultancy, diagnostics and medicines.  

Sh Varun Roojam, Deputy Commissioner Mohali Distt was the Chief Guest. S Baljit Sing, an Industrialist and a known philanthropist, was Guest of honour. Guests were shown round the camp by the Chairman & other Trustees. All the PGI Doctors were awarded certificates of appreciation. Chairman also explained salient features of RTI Act of 2005 and Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act of 2007 to the gathering.   

Maj Gen MS Kandal, the Chairman, said fulfilling social responsibility by activities like the medical camps, 5 days a week OPDs at our Poly Clinic at Perch, regular weekly visits to various villages to render at the door step medical service and awareness talks were some of the ways we can repay Society for what it has given to us. HE said, we, the trustees and the social workers of the Trust, Consider sharing Lord Almighty’s benevolence with the less privileged as “Worship with a Difference”.
