Akshay Kumar who has recently been trolled for promoting a pan masala advertisement has now apologised for the same. The actor was hilariously being backlashes for this and even called ‘Dogla’ by netizens. The actor took to Twitter and apologised to his fans saying that he would be more careful about the brands that he endorses in the future.
While sharing the apologising letter, the actor wrote, "I am sorry. I would like to apologise to you, all my fans and well-wishers. Your reaction over the past few days has deeply affected me. While I have not and will not endorse tobacco, I respect the outpouring of your feelings in light of my association with Vimal Elaichi. Not only this, but he also announced that he would donate the entire endorsement fee towards a worthy cause. "I have decided to contribute the entire endorsement fee towards a worthy cause. The brand might continue airing the ads till the legal duration of the contract that is binding upon me, but I promise to be extremely mindful in making my future choices. In return I shall forever continue to ask for your love and wishes," Akshay Kumar added further.
Meanwhile, the controversy exploded after the actor was seen sharing screen space with other Bollywood superstars Ajay Devgn and Shahrukh Khan for the popular ‘elaichi pan masala’ commercial. The internet went divided as some brutally trolled the actor for promoting tobacco and pan masala whereas others were happy as they saw such big stars together sharing the screen.
