Sahai stresses for greater synergy, says armed police backbone of JKP

 Describing Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police as backbone of the Organization, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), S. M. Sahai emphasised for greater synergy between executive and armed police in order to provide better policing to the people.Sahai was addressing the 11th Commandants’ Conference of Armed and IRP Battalions here this morning. The 2-day state level Annual Conference is convened to discuss the role of Armed police and future strategies, and in the conference various issues, requirements are discussed to enhance the proficiency of armed police.Speaking on the inaugural session, Sahai highlighted the role of Armed Police in maintaining law and order to ensure safety and security of the people. He said that the force has been working shoulder to shoulder with the executive police and other law enforcing agencies in every nook and corner of the State. He stressed for coordination between the forces working on different fronts to provide efficient service to the public.Expressing satisfaction over the performance of the force, Sahai stressed for more accountability and efficiency for all ranks of armed police. He lauded the role of jawans and officers for demonstrating great professionalism, discipline and valour in ensuring safety of people and their property during hostile situations. The experiences gained during such situations would boost the morale of the jawans and officers and would prove fruitful in formulating future strategies, said Sahai.  The ADGP asked the officers to maintain close liaison and ensure welfare of their subordinates so that a “feel good factor” is created within the Organization. He also directed the supervisory officers to frequently interact with the lower ranks to bring improvements in their working. He said various initiatives have been taken to strengthen living and working standards of armed police, so that they could give a model appearance in the field. He asked the officers to issue clear directions to the subordinate officers and implement welfare of jawans.
