Finally! there’s a piece of enormous news for all the devotees. After a gap of two years, Amarnath Yatra will fully resume this year that is 2022. It has been reported that Amarnath Yatra will commence on 30 June and conclude on 11 August. Yatender Kumar, Deputy General Manager of Punjab National Bank, Jammu said, “The process of ‘Yatri’ registration for Amarnath Yatra began at the 316 branches of Punjab National Bank on April 11 and will continue till June 30. Yatris who had registered last year have to give INR 20 extra for the fee, which was INR 100 last, while it’s INR 120 now.”

“Devotees between the age of 13-75 years can come for the registration. They’ll have to get a health certificate from designated hospitals that are near the Amarnath Shrine board,” Yatender Kumar added further. According to more information. The pilgrims can also register online through the website and mobile app of the Shrine Board, Nitishwar Kumar, CEO, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, had said earlier.

Moreover, it has also been stated that registrations for the yatra will begin in 446 branches of Jammu & Kashmir Bank, Punjab National Bank, YES Bank, and 100 branches of State Bank of India across the country. With more than three people expected to arrive on the pilgrimage, the shrine board has set up a yatri niwas (rest house) that can accommodate 3,000 pilgrims in Ramban.Meanwhile, the devotees could not be held in 2020 and 2021 due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Even in 2019, the yatra was canceled a few days before August 5, when the Centre repealed Article 370 and overridden the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, carving out the Union Territory of Ladakh.Thousands of devotees visit every year in Amarnath to pay respect to Lord Shiva. It has been believed that Lord Shiva is present in the form of an ice lingam. Due to the tough nature of the trek, the shrine board prevents children below 13 and the elderly above 75 years from embarking on the pilgrimage. Women who are more than six weeks pregnant are not allowed on the pilgrimage.
