Government is making extensive efforts to evacuate Indian citizens from Ukraine : Anil Vij

Haryana Home Minister, Anil Vij said that the government is making every effort to evacuate Indian citizens from Ukraine and so far many citizens have been airlifted and brought back to the country safely.  Ishika Bhutani, a student of Ambala Cantonment Kachha Bazar, who returned safely from Ukraine on Thursday and met Home Minister Anil Vij at his residence and thanked him.Home Minister Anil Vij welcomed student Ishika and said that the government is making extensive efforts to evacuate the citizens and students of the country from Ukraine.  Apart from airlines, citizens are being brought back from Romania, Hungary, Poland and other countries by Air Force's C-17 Globemaster planes.  The Home Minister also took information from the student Ishika that in which city of Ukraine she was studying, from which border she returned.  He also told the girl student about the efforts being made by the Government of India to bring back the citizens and students.Home Minister Anil Vij had requested by writen a letter to the External Affairs Minister.Home Minister said that he had written a letter to the country's External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, requesting that the citizens of Haryana be brought back safely, so that they could be brought back safely.  On the letter of the Home Minister, full confidence was expressed by the Ministry of External Affairs to take action and it was also told which helpdesks were set up on the borders of Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia to evacuate students and citizens.

Expressing thanks to Home Minister Anil Vij, the father of the student Ishika and retired from the Air Force, Vinay Bhutani said that 'due to the prayers and efforts of Home Minister Anil Vij, his daughter was able to come back alive today'.  He said that if efforts were not made at the government level to bring back his daughter and other students, the situation would have been different today.  He said that the family had appealed to Home Minister Anil Vij a few days ago to bring back his daughter safely and today his daughter has returned, which has brought relief to him and the entire family.  Ishika's aunt Meenakshi Bhutani, BJP Mandal President Rajiv Gupta Dimple, Secretary Vikas Batra and others were present on the occasion.

Stayed in shelter for two days in Romania, government provided food and other facilities - Ishika Bhutani

Ishika Bhutani, an MBBS student who returned from Ukraine, thanked Home Minister Anil Vij for telling him that she was studying in the Ukrainian city of Vinnitsa.  There are about 2 thousand citizens of the country.  She told that when the war started in Ukraine, he along with other students went towards Romania border.  The bus was provided to them by the college.  Arrangements were made by the Government of India on the Romania border and also provided with food and shelter to stay.  He stayed at a shelter home in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, for two days and then brought to the country on the night of March 1 via an airline.  Ishika said that thanks to the government, thousands of citizens have been able to return safely from Ukraine.
