Minister Sets 2 Months Deadline To Computerized The Delivery Mechanism System

Keeping in view the hurdles and hardships being faced by the public for getting birth and death certificates, the Punjab Government has decided to computerize this service delivery system and to issue the certificates online.Presiding over a high level meeting of the department, Local Bodies Minister Anil Joshi has fixed a two month dead line for the authorities to computerize the whole system. He said that the formal inauguration of the project would be held on August 15, 2014. He also directed that officials to issue the certificates within the time period of 7 days.During the meeting, the minister took stock of the ongoing projects of the department and issued strictures for the time bound completion of the work as per the set rules. He also asked the officers to formulate fool proof blue prints for the future projects so as to avoid any financial scarcity.

Joshi directed all Commissioners of the Municipal Corporations, Regional Deputy Director and Executive Officers to devote time from 10 am to 1 pm in their offices on every Tuesday for listening to the grievances of the general public and their redressal. He also made it mandatory for all the branches and regional offices of the department to install board outside their offices depicting the services being delivered and formalities for the services. Mr. Joshi further directed the officers to issue a check list for the public for getting the CLU case cleared and house drawing passed. Besides senior officers, Mr. Ashok Kumar Gupta, Secretary of the department was also present in the meeting.
